Electrical Engineer – Data Centres & Mission Critical

About the Role

We are working with a leading global engineering consultancy that is expanding its electrical engineering team across major data centre and mission-critical projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join a high-performing multidisciplinary team and work on some of the region’s largest and most technically complex infrastructure developments.

The role will involve supporting the design and delivery of electrical systems from concept through to detailed design and construction, working closely with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs for large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects.

• Produce electrical calculations, specifications, schematics and technical documentation.

• Undertake load flow, short-circuit, protection and other electrical engineering studies.

• Design LV and HV electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators and associated infrastructure.

• Support the development of single-line diagrams, equipment schedules and cable schedules.

• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural and other disciplines.

• Review technical submissions, equipment selections and contractor designs.

• Participate in design reviews, client meetings and project coordination.

• Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning phases.

• Assist with site inspections, testing and commissioning activities where required.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian/international standards and project requirements.

• Contribute to project delivery, technical reports and tender documentation.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an Electrical Engineer with experience working within a consulting engineering environment and exposure to complex commercial, industrial or mission-critical projects.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.

• Experience with electrical building services, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.

• Strong understanding of LV/HV electrical distribution systems.

• Experience with electrical design software and engineering calculation tools.

• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and electrical design practices.

• Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.

• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience within data centres, hyperscale facilities, healthcare, industrial facilities, utilities or other mission-critical environments would be highly regarded.

Exposure to ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and/or electrical modelling software would also be advantageous.
