BMS Commissioning Lead – Data Centres

Location: Melbourne, VIC
Salary: Up to $180,000 AUD + Super + Company Vehicle

The Opportunity

We're partnering with a leading Building Automation specialist to recruit an experienced BMS Commissioning Lead to support the delivery of major data centre projects across Melbourne.

With a growing portfolio of hyperscale and colocation data centres, you'll lead the commissioning of critical Building Management Systems that support mission-critical environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of Australia's most technically advanced facilities while managing a team of commissioning engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning of BMS on large-scale data centre projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Commissioning Engineers and Technicians.
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, functional testing and integrated system testing.
  • Commission critical mechanical systems including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs and associated plant.
  • Configure and validate BMS controllers, graphics, alarms, trends and front-end systems.
  • Test and verify communications across BACnet, Modbus and IP networks.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and controls contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), client witnessing, FAT/SAT activities and final project handover.
  • Troubleshoot complex controls and integration issues within mission-critical environments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

About You

  • Extensive experience commissioning Building Management Systems.
  • Previous experience leading commissioning teams on large commercial or mission-critical projects.
  • Experience working on data centre, critical infrastructure or high-specification MEP projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls and critical cooling systems.
  • Experience with platforms such as Niagara N4, Schneider EcoStruxure, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Johnson Controls or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP and integrated building systems.
  • Excellent fault-finding, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence.
