Project Manager – Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
Location: Strasbourg, France (HQ) + flexible across Europe
Department: Project Execution
Reporting to: Head of Project Execution
Contract: Initial 6 months (strong potential for extension)
The Opportunity
We’re supporting a leading European energy technology business delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of ESS project delivery from contract award through to commissioning and final customer acceptance.
This is a key role acting as the main point of contact for customers while coordinating all internal teams to ensure successful project delivery across multiple European sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end delivery of ESS projects from order intake through to final handover.
- Own project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource coordination.
- Act as the main customer interface throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Coordinate engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, commissioning and service teams.
- Track project progress against scope, cost, quality and timeline targets.
- Identify and manage risks, issues and change throughout delivery.
- Manage project documentation, reporting and stakeholder updates.
- Oversee site execution activities with commissioning and subcontractor teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and contractual requirements.
- Support final testing, acceptance and project close-out.
What They’re Looking For
- 3–8+ years’ experience in Project Management or Project Execution roles.
- Background in energy, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy or industrial projects.
- Strong experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Confident managing customers, stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, EPC environments or industrial project delivery.
- Experience in ESS, BESS, PV, MV/LV systems, PCS or SCADA is beneficial but not essential.
- International project experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
