Director, Data Center Systems Architecture | Cooling Solutions | $275K - $325K + 25% bonus + LTI | Remote

Are you a systems engineering leader with deep expertise in data center cooling technologies and a passion for shaping the future of hyperscale infrastructure?

My client is seeking a Senior Director, Data Center Systems Architecture to define and drive the technical vision behind next-generation cooling solutions for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center customers. This is a highly strategic role focused on translating emerging market trends, customer requirements, and industry innovation into differentiated products, scalable platforms, and global solutions.

Working at the intersection of engineering, product management, and customer engagement, you will play a pivotal role in developing the technologies that support the rapid growth of AI, high-density computing, and mission-critical digital infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Analyze emerging trends in data center design, operation, AI infrastructure, and thermal management technologies.
• Engage directly with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise customers to understand evolving cooling and infrastructure requirements.
• Evaluate competitive technologies and identify opportunities for product and system differentiation.
• Develop long-term product and solutions strategies aligned with market demands and customer needs.
• Define end-to-end system architectures and establish system-level technical requirements.
• Translate system requirements into detailed sub-system specifications across product portfolios.
• Drive the development of scalable global platforms and solutions that can be deployed across multiple regions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to deliver innovative customer-centric solutions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across a matrixed global organization to ensure technical alignment and successful execution.
• Support the development of next-generation cooling technologies designed for high-density and AI-driven data center environments.

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience within complex technical environments.
• 8+ years supporting data center customers and cooling system solutions.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, HVAC systems, thermal management, and data center operations.
• Experience developing system architectures and translating customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across engineering, product, and commercial organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate fast-paced, highly technical environments.
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, or large-scale data center customers is highly desirable.
