Edison Smart is actively seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Project Manager to join our client's growing team in Houston, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the successful delivery of smart building and automation projects across commercial, healthcare, industrial, education, and mission-critical facilities.
The BAS Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of building automation and controls projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of building controls systems, excellent client-facing skills, and proven project management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Building Automation System (BAS) projects from award through commissioning and project closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, consulting engineers, subcontractors, field technicians, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the installation, programming, integration, and commissioning of HVAC controls and building automation systems.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage project financials, including forecasting, change orders, invoicing, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to clients and management teams.
- Support procurement activities and equipment delivery schedules.
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and performance objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Automation, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing Building Automation Systems, HVAC Controls, or Smart Building projects.
- Experience with BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Tridium Niagara, Distech, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, networking, and system integration.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and other building automation communication protocols.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- PMP certification is a plus.
