Edison Smart is actively seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Project Manager to join our client's growing team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of building automation and smart building projects across commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, and mission-critical facilities across the Carolinas.

The BAS Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of controls and automation projects from project award through commissioning and closeout. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls and building automation systems, combined with proven project management and client-facing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Building Automation System (BAS) projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from kickoff to project completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, consulting engineers, subcontractors, field technicians, and internal engineering teams.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, change orders, invoicing, and cost controls.
• Oversee equipment procurement, submittals, project execution, commissioning, and final turnover.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Support field teams with technical and project-related challenges during implementation.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for future business growth.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and project specifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing Building Automation Systems, HVAC Controls, or Smart Building projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, commissioning processes, and building operations.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Alerton, Distech, or similar.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based building automation networks.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer expectations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively coordinate field and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Automation, or a related technical field.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
• Experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, higher education, manufacturing, or data center projects.
• Familiarity with energy management systems and smart building technologies.
