Controls Subject Matter Expert

Edison Smart are hiring on behalf of our client

Edison Smart are supporting a global engineering business delivering modular, mission-critical infrastructure. They are looking for a Controls Solutions Manager to act as the senior technical authority across BMS / BAS / PLC-based control systems, supporting both factory build and site delivery.

This is a hands-on role combining technical ownership, commissioning support, and L2 escalation, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as controls SME across BMS/BAS, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and networks

  • Support FAT, commissioning, and system validation

  • Lead troubleshooting and diagnostics across integrated HVAC and electrical systems

  • Provide Level 2 remote technical support to field teams

  • Support controls standards, documentation, and training

  • Attend site as required to resolve complex issues

Background Required

  • Strong experience with BMS / BAS or PLC controls systems

  • Confident with BACnet, Modbus, control logic, and sequences of operation

  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting complex systems

  • Comfortable working across factory and live site environments

  • Willing to travel (up to ~75%)

Nice to Have

  • Data centre, modular, or mission-critical project exposure

  • Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, JCI, or similar platforms

  • Controls, electrical, or low-voltage technical qualification
