RF Systems Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000
Description:
A global Defence & Security company are looking for an RF Systems Engineer to join their engineering team developing novel communication and security solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design RF system frameworks, conducting trade studies to optimize performance, cost, timeline, and risk from low to mid maturity levels.
- Integrate contributions from antenna, RF hardware, signal processing, electronics, firmware, and software experts for complete systems.
- Communicate technical approaches to clients and partners, delivering updates, justifications, and development paths.
- Coordinate with engineering and project leads to achieve milestones and uphold quality requirements.
- Aid in generating fresh RF concepts, including proof-of-concept work and initial assessments.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline
- RF Systems
- RF components/sub-systems (Antennas, front-end circuits, signal chains, and overall integration)
- System planning, analysis, and modelling.
- Experience with product life cycle design from early stage concepts
- Solid presentation abilities for client interactions and technical reviews.
- Strong teamwork across technical and operational groups.
- Eligible for at least UK SC level clearance
Bonus skills/Nice to have’s:
- EM theory
- RF/DSP tools, and simulation software.
- Knowledge of radar/EW
- Experience with full-system testing and verification.
- Defence protocols, tools or standards (e.g., DOORS, SysML).
