Job Description
A federal contracting firm specializing in Johnson Controls (JCI) Building Automation Systems (BAS) is seeking multiple BAS Technicians/Applications Specialists. Positions are available in healthcare facilities in Chicago, as well as opportunities requiring travel to sites across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities

Program and troubleshoot BAS/HVAC Controls, ideally with brands such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Delta, Distech, Carrier, ALC, and Andover.

Work with BAS communication protocols including BACnet MSTP/IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and/or LON.

Ensure compliance with TLS and customer safety standards, providing guidance to technicians and subcontractors on safety practices.

Assist management with scheduling and assigning personnel for installations and repairs.

Conduct self-study and complete required training/certifications to maintain technical expertise.

Install and inspect BAS equipment in line with contract requirements and manufacturer specifications.

Manage field service calls and labor estimates.

Read and interpret complex architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings, project plans, and technical manuals.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

3+ years’ experience installing and servicing Direct Digital Controls (DDC) BAS systems.

Experience with servers, operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2016), MS Office, and LAN networks.

Strong knowledge of electricity/electronics (relays, motor contactors, transformers, DCV/ACV circuits).

Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment (multi-meters, analyzers, communication devices).

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in confined spaces or at heights.

Professional communication skills and ability to remain calm during emergencies.

Valid driver’s license, clean DMV record, and ability to pass background/drug screenings.

One or more certifications preferred: Certified JCI Metasys Technician or Certified Niagara Technician.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in Electronics or HVAC.

1–5 years commercial HVAC experience.

Knowledge of Niagara programming, Metasys, and Johnson CCT applications.
