Job Title: BAS Controls Technician
Location: Austin, TX (Office-Based)
Pay Rate: $30 – $45 per hour (equivalent to $62,400 – $93,600 annually)

About the Role:
Our client, a leading building automation contractor, is looking for a BAS Controls Technician to join their team in Austin, TX. This full-time, office-based role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in installing, servicing, and troubleshooting Building Automation Systems (BAS).
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with system startup, testing, and ongoing maintenance across commercial and light industrial projects. Minimal travel may be required between Austin and Dallas.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, wire, and commission BAS components including controllers, sensors, and field devices

Perform field-level troubleshooting and diagnostics on HVAC and control systems

Assist programmers and engineers in configuring and testing control sequences

Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to support system installations

Conduct preventative maintenance and respond to service calls

Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and contractors
Requirements:

2+ years of experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or electrical systems

Familiarity with DDC controls and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus

Ability to use basic electrical tools and testing equipment

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Must be able and willing to work onsite in Austin

Minimal travel required to Dallas for occasional project support
