Principle Field Application Engineer | based in Serbia (open to relocation) 

Edison Smart is partnered with with a global supplier of wireless communication modules and antennas for IoT devices. We are looking for a senior-level Application Engineer to lead technical strategy, solve complex IoT system challenges, and support global customers. You’ll work with advanced wireless and embedded technologies across industries like automotive, industrial, and smart infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture reviews and troubleshooting for IoT solutions using cellular (4G/5G), short-range (Wi-Fi, BLE, LoRa), and GNSS technologies.
• Support customer projects through design reviews, technical proposals, and product bring-up.
• Guide product development by translating customer needs into technical requirements.
• Resolve advanced system-level issues (e.g., RF, protocol, power, positioning).
• Develop proof-of-concepts, reference designs, and technical documentation.
• Mentor global engineering teams and deliver technical training on wireless technologies.
• Represent the engineering team in customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• 10+ years in embedded/wireless engineering, including 5+ years in IoT.
• Expertise in cellular (LTE/5G, NB-IoT), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and embedded systems.
• Strong skills in C/C++/Python, embedded Linux or RTOS, hardware debugging, and networking protocols.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
