Structural Engineer – Data Centres & Mission Critical

About the Role

We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy delivering structural design and engineering solutions across complex commercial, industrial and mission-critical developments.

The business is looking to strengthen its structural engineering team with an experienced Structural Engineer who can contribute to the design and delivery of technically demanding projects, including large-scale data centre developments.

This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering environment, taking responsibility for structural design activities while working closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering design across new-build and existing infrastructure projects.

• Develop structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

• Design and analyse reinforced concrete, steel and other structural systems.

• Undertake structural assessments and engineering calculations.

• Develop structural framing schemes and detailed design solutions.

• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, civil and MEP disciplines.

• Review drawings, technical submissions and contractor proposals.

• Provide engineering input throughout the construction phase.

• Attend site inspections and assist with resolving technical and construction issues.

• Support project teams through design development, documentation and delivery.

• Liaise with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

• Ensure structural designs comply with relevant codes, standards and project requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a Structural Engineer with experience working within a consulting engineering environment and exposure to complex commercial, industrial or mission-critical projects.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• 3+ years of structural engineering experience.

• Experience within a structural engineering consultancy.

• Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.

• Experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures.

• Ability to produce and review structural calculations and technical documentation.

• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Good understanding of relevant Australian Standards and structural design requirements.

• Proficiency with structural design and documentation software.

Desirable Experience

Experience working on data centres, industrial facilities, warehouses, commercial developments or other technically complex infrastructure would be highly regarded.

Experience with large-scale steel structures, equipment platforms, plant rooms, heavy equipment loads, structural alterations or existing building assessments would also be advantageous.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining architecture, engineering, and mentoring within a Microsoft-focused data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration)
• Define and implement modern data architecture (Medallion, Lakehouse)
• Build and optimise data platforms using Azure, Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory

We’re looking for a Senior / Lead Data Engineer to join a growing data team delivering cloud-native data platforms within the Microsoft ecosystem. This role will play a key part in designing and building scalable data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and driving data-led decision making across the business.

You’ll work closely with data architects, analysts, and engineering teams to build high-performance data solutions using modern cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data architectures, covering ingestion, transformation, modelling, storage, and orchestration.
• Build and maintain scalable cloud-native data pipelines within Microsoft environments.
• Develop data models and architectures that support enterprise analytics and reporting.
• Implement data quality, validation, lineage, and monitoring frameworks.
