Job Description

Facilities Manager - Pleasanton, CA - Advanced Technology

We are looking for a Facilities Manager to take ownership of a growing Pleasanton, CA site supporting advanced microfabrication environments.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who has experience establishing and scaling technical facilities, including taking a site from an initial build phase through to fully operational status. You will have significant ownership across infrastructure, facilities operations, safety, compliance, contractors and future expansion.

The role:

  • Leading the development and ongoing operation of the Pleasanton facility
  • Planning and delivering facility buildouts, lab spaces, cleanrooms and infrastructure upgrades
  • Managing cleanroom environments and the associated building systems and utilities
  • Overseeing electrical, HVAC, cooling, gases, backup power and other critical infrastructure
  • Working closely with engineering and EHS teams to maintain safe, compliant working environments
  • Managing construction partners, contractors, service providers and equipment vendors
  • Supporting equipment installation, commissioning and changes to the facility as programs develop
  • Owning facilities budgets, capital projects and long-term site planning
  • Maintaining strong standards around safety, reliability, compliance and operational readiness

Experience Needed:

  • 12+ years of experience in facilities, plant engineering or technical facility management
  • A track record of building and managing facilities from the ground up
  • Strong experience with cleanroom design, setup and operations
  • Experience managing complex technical facilities with demanding infrastructure requirements
  • Proven ownership of major facility projects, installations or expansions
  • Strong understanding of safety, regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, contractors, vendors and service agreements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience within defense, aerospace, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or R&D environments would be particularly relevant. Applicants must be a U.S Person as defined by applicable ITAR/EAR regulations.

If you have built technical facilities from the ground up, know how to run cleanroom environments, and enjoy being close to the engineering and operational side of a growing technology business, I would be keen to speak.
