Job Description
Founding Account Executive – Physical AI
The Opportunity
A high-growth technology company operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics and industrial automation is hiring a Founding Account Executive.
The business provides software that helps organisations deploy, manage and scale intelligent machines in real-world environments. Its customers and partners include robotics companies, technology developers, equipment manufacturers, systems integrators and enterprise operators.
This is an early commercial hire within a growing business and an emerging market. The successful person will help define how the company approaches the market, develops strategic relationships and converts early opportunities into repeatable revenue.
The Role
This is not a traditional Account Executive position with an established territory, mature pipeline and existing sales playbook.
You will work closely with the leadership and technical teams to build the commercial motion from the ground up.
During your first six months, you will:
- Identify and engage robotics companies, AI developers, OEMs, systems integrators and enterprise operators.
- Create opportunities through targeted outbound activity, industry relationships, events, introductions and partnerships.
- Turn early conversations into commercial pilots, deployments and long-term customer relationships.
- Manage the complete sales process, from initial outreach and technical discovery through negotiation and close.
- Work with customers and internal technical teams to move projects from concept into operational deployment.
- Test different markets, messages and use cases to establish where the company has the strongest commercial opportunity.
- Capture market feedback and use it to improve the company’s positioning, commercial strategy and sales process.
- Help create a repeatable go-to-market model that can support future team growth.
Who We Are Looking For
The company is looking for a commercially driven generalist who can operate comfortably across sales, partnerships, technology and strategy.
You could come from a commercial, technical or entrepreneurial background. What matters is your ability to understand complex technology, build relationships and create commercial opportunities in a market that is still developing.
You may have:
- Built and sold within an early-stage technology company.
- Worked in sales, partnerships, business development or account management for a highly technical product.
- Operated in robotics, industrial automation, AI infrastructure, data platforms, enterprise software or another emerging technology market.
- Worked as an engineer, solutions consultant or product specialist before moving into a customer-facing role.
- Helped develop a new market, product category or go-to-market strategy.
You Should Be
- Genuinely interested in robotics, automation and embodied or Physical AI.
- Comfortable selling complex technology to both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Able to communicate credibly with engineers, founders, executives and operational teams.
- Highly proactive and willing to build opportunities without relying on inbound leads.
- Resilient and comfortable with rejection, experimentation and changing priorities.
- Capable of working independently within a small, fast-moving organisation.
- Commercially ambitious but honest and transparent when communicating results.
- Willing to take responsibility outside the boundaries of a conventional sales role.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling or developing partnerships for a technical B2B product.
- Exposure to robotics, Physical AI, industrial automation, AI, data infrastructure or enterprise SaaS.
- Experience working with startups, enterprise customers or both.
- A track record of originating, negotiating and closing new business.
- Experience managing a combination of fast-moving opportunities and longer enterprise sales cycles.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into clear commercial value.
- Experience taking pilot projects through to paid, operational deployments.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious technology company at an early and influential stage.
You will have the autonomy to shape its commercial direction, develop a new category and build relationships with some of the organisations defining the future of intelligent machines.
The role offers significant scope to grow as the company and commercial function expand.
