Lead Mechanical Engineer – Aviation

We are working with a leading international engineering and aviation consultancy on an exciting opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Dubai.
This is a senior leadership position focused on the delivery of complex aviation and airport infrastructure projects, providing the opportunity to work on major, high-profile developments across the region.
The Role
As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will take technical ownership of mechanical engineering design and delivery across major aviation projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design and delivery across major aviation and airport projects.
- Provide technical leadership across HVAC, chilled water, ventilation and mechanical building services.
- Manage and mentor mechanical engineering teams and support the development of junior engineers.
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical and specialist aviation disciplines.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant international codes, standards and aviation requirements.
- Support project planning, technical strategy, design reviews and value engineering.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical input during construction, testing and commissioning phases.
About You
We are looking for a senior mechanical engineering professional with:
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale aviation, airport or other highly complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical expertise across mechanical building services and HVAC systems.
- Previous experience in a Lead, Principal, Senior or Engineering Manager capacity.
- Experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within international engineering consultancies or major contractors.
- Strong understanding of international engineering standards and design practices.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering accreditation would be highly advantageous.
