About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer / UX Designer to take ownership of the user experience across a sophisticated, data-rich digital product.

This is a hands-on product design role for someone who is comfortable working from ambiguous problems through to validated solutions. You will be expected to understand users, identify problems, challenge assumptions, define the right experience, and translate those insights into intuitive and scalable product experiences.

We are not looking for someone who simply turns requirements or existing designs into polished screens.

The ideal candidate is someone who can look at a product and explain:

What is the problem? Why is it happening? What should we change? Why? And how would we know if the change worked?

You will work closely with Product, Engineering and other stakeholders to shape the product from discovery through to delivery.

What You'll Do

Product & UX Strategy

• Own the UX process from problem definition and discovery through to final product experience.
• Translate complex business and user problems into clear, intuitive product solutions.
• Challenge requirements and assumptions where appropriate rather than simply executing them.
• Identify usability issues and explain the underlying UX principles behind them.
• Develop user journeys, information architecture, workflows and interaction models for complex products.
• Balance the needs of new users with those of experienced, high-frequency users.

User Research & Discovery

• Conduct user interviews, usability testing and other qualitative research methods.
• Analyse user behaviour, feedback and product data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop hypotheses and validate design decisions before significant engineering investment.
• Use research and evidence to influence product direction.
• Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand the underlying problem rather than jumping directly to solutions.

Interaction & Product Design

• Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
• Design intuitive experiences for complex workflows, dashboards, data-heavy interfaces and transactional journeys.
• Think carefully about information hierarchy, navigation, cognitive load, affordances and user feedback.
• Design for real-world edge cases, including:
  • Empty states
  • Loading states
  • Error states
  • Validation
  • Permissions
  • Incomplete data
  • System failures
  • Complex workflows
• Create experiences that are simple for new users while remaining powerful for expert users.

Design Systems

• Build, evolve and maintain scalable design systems.
• Develop reusable components, patterns, variables and design tokens.
• Establish clear interaction and visual standards across the product.
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure design systems translate effectively into production.
• Identify opportunities to improve consistency and reduce design and development rework.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
• Communicate design decisions clearly and explain the reasoning behind them.
• Present concepts and prototypes to stakeholders and incorporate meaningful feedback.
• Work directly with engineers during implementation to ensure the intended experience is delivered.
• Review implemented experiences and identify gaps between design intent and the final product.
• Contribute to product strategy, prioritisation and roadmap discussions where appropriate.

Measurement & Iteration

• Define success criteria for major UX improvements.
• Use analytics, experimentation and usability testing to evaluate product decisions.
• Continuously iterate based on evidence rather than personal preference.
• Connect design improvements to measurable user and business outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional Product Design / UX Design experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, not simply collections of polished UI screens.
• Proven experience solving complex UX problems from discovery through to implementation.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design and information architecture.
• Experience conducting user research, interviews and usability testing.
• Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, auto-layout and prototyping.
• Experience designing complex dashboards, workflows, SaaS products, fintech products or other data-intensive applications is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of design systems and scalable product design.
• Ability to clearly articulate why a design decision was made.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable working closely with engineers and understanding technical constraints.
• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the wider user journey.
• Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving product environment.

Highly Desirable

• Experience working on fintech, financial services, SaaS, AI or data-intensive products.
• Experience designing enterprise or B2B platforms.
• Experience with complex data visualisation and dashboards.
• Experience with experimentation and A/B testing.
• Experience using analytics platforms such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or Google Analytics.
• Understanding of accessibility and WCAG principles.
• Experience designing for both desktop and mobile.
• Experience with international or multi-market products.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or frontend development.
• Experience working with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
