IT Helpdesk Support Engineer
Location: London (Zone 1)
Working Arrangement: Office-based, 5 days per week
Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract (with potential for extension)
Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week (12:00pm – 4:00pm preferred)
Start Date: August 2026
About the Role
We are seeking an IT Helpdesk Support Engineer to provide internal technical support for a growing international organisation.
This is a hands-on support role, working closely with employees to resolve day-to-day IT issues, manage support requests, and ensure users have the tools and access they need to work effectively.
The successful candidate will be based in the London office five days per week, providing a mixture of face-to-face and remote support to users across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong 1st and 2nd line support experience who enjoys working directly with users and taking ownership of technical issues from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to internal users.
- Manage and resolve support tickets through an internal ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, account, access and connectivity issues.
- Provide in-person support for office-based employees as well as remote support where required.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees, including account setup and equipment preparation.
- Manage user access, permissions and security-related requests.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, assets and resolutions.
- Support laptop configuration, deployment and troubleshooting across Mac and Windows devices.
- Assist with meeting room technology, video conferencing and AV support.
- Support IT equipment logistics, including shipping and asset tracking.
Required Experience
- Previous experience working in a Tier 1 / Tier 2 internal IT support role.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple requests.
- Comfortable working independently within an office environment.
- Must have the right to work in the UK and be able to complete background checks.
Technical Experience
Experience with the following technologies is preferred:
- Internal ticketing systems (Jira Service Management preferred).
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD administration.
- Active Directory administration.
- Google Workspace administration.
- macOS support.
- Jamf or similar MDM solutions.
- Windows laptop support.
- Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.
- Slack administration.
- IT asset management systems (such as Snipe-IT).
- Google Meet, Zoom and conference room AV systems.
- Password managers and modern authentication methods.
- VPNs and basic networking concepts.
- Command line / terminal experience.
Working Hours
The initial requirement is Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
There may be flexibility to adjust working hours after the initial onboarding period, depending on business requirements.
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension.
- Office-based role in Central London.
- Inside IR35 engagement.
- Immediate requirement with August 2026 start.
