BAS Controls Technician – Houston, TX
Up to $100,000 + Benefits + Company Vehicle
Are you an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician looking to join a global leader in smart buildings and integrated technologies?
We're partnering with an established building technologies company that's continuing to grow its presence across Texas. They're looking for a skilled BAS Controls Technician to support installation, commissioning, service and maintenance projects across commercial facilities in the Houston area.
The Role
As a BAS Controls Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, commissioning and troubleshooting building automation systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings, including healthcare, education, industrial, corporate and mixed-use facilities. You'll work alongside project managers, engineers and customers to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network communication issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
- Commission controllers, sensors, field devices and HVAC equipment.
- Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams and sequences of operation.
- Support project teams during installations and customer handovers.
- Build strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional technical support.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and mechanical systems.
- Experience with BAS platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Distech, Alerton or similar.
- Understanding of BACnet, Modbus and IP networking.
- Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
- Valid driver's license.
