Edison Smart is proud to support a leading Australian industrial automation and controls engineering business as they continue to expand their Brisbane team.

This specialist engineering firm delivers complex PLC, SCADA, DCS and RTU solutions across a range of critical infrastructure and industrial sectors.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end control systems engineering support across multiple projects, from early design through to commissioning and client handover.

The role is a mix of office-based engineering and occasional on-site commissioning work within Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and program PLC, HMI and SCADA systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Emerson etc.)
• Produce functional design specifications, control philosophies and OT network designs
• Deliver FAT, SAT and full commissioning activities
• Provide technical support and mentoring to engineers within the team
• Ensure all work aligns with Australian standards and internal procedure

About You

Essential:

• Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong hands-on experience in industrial control systems programming
• White/Blue Card (WHS Construction Induction)
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
• Full driver’s licence with willingness to travel when required

Desirable:

• Experience with industrial networking and OT cybersecurity
• Exposure to platforms such as Ignition, Citect, WinCC or FactoryTalk
