HVAC Technician – Building Automation

A specialist recruitment agency is working with a well-established building automation integrator in the Dallas area to hire an experienced HVAC Technician. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys working at the intersection of HVAC and controls, and is looking to develop their skills within building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
The Role
As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC systems integrated with building automation controls. You’ll work on a variety of commercial projects, supporting both new installations and existing system upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
- Assist with installation and commissioning of building automation systems
- Diagnose faults across mechanical and control systems
- Work with controls engineers to integrate HVAC equipment into BAS platforms
- Perform system testing, calibration, and optimisation
- Ensure all work is completed to safety and quality standards
- Provide technical support on-site and liaise with clients when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician in commercial or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems (RTUs, AHUs, chillers, etc.)
- Basic knowledge or exposure to building automation systems (BAS/BMS) is highly desirable
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Valid driver’s license
