Bid Estimator (BMS / EPMS | Mission-Critical Projects)

Remote

20% travel

Up to $150,000 + bonus

Are you an experienced Bid Estimator with a passion for delivering complex, high-impact projects?

We’re looking for a detail-driven professional to support preconstruction and bid development for mission-critical data centre projects, focusing on Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy, and client engagement, helping shape innovative, cost-effective solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Estimating & Cost Planning

  • Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Build detailed cost estimates (labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors)
  • Prepare take-offs, BOQs, and pricing schedules
  • Identify risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities

Bid & Proposal Development

  • Create compelling technical and commercial proposals
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system design and control strategies
  • Support pricing strategy and bid clarifications with sales teams
  • Present bid summaries and recommendations internally

Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  • Source competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensure technical compliance and commercial accuracy
  • Build strong relationships with key vendors and partners

Project & Client Support

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and client workshops
  • Support project teams with clear handover documentation post-award
  • Assist with variations, re-costing, and commercial updates

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in BMS, controls systems, or EPMS estimating
  • Strong understanding of:
  • HVAC controls, PLC/DDC systems, sensors, and networking
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
  • Experience with estimation tools, Excel, and platforms like Niagara / BACnet
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in data centres or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with platforms like Schneider Electric, Siemens, or ABB
  • Knowledge of CSI Divisions 25/26/27
  • Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, or contractors
  • Understanding of delivery models (Design-Build, IPD, etc.)
