Senior Robotics Design Engineer
Location: Illinois - Onsite
Salary: Up to $120,000 per year
Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
We’re partnering with an exciting, fast-growing robotics startup developing advanced robotic systems for real-world industrial automation. This is a hands-on role for a senior-level engineer who wants ownership across system-level mechanical design, from concept through production.
The Role
As a Senior Robotics Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical design and integration of robotic systems, including structures, subsystems, and end-of-arm tooling. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and software teams to rapidly iterate, prototype, and deliver production-ready robots.
Key Responsibilities
- Production-level mechanical design of robotic systems using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools
- Design and integration of robotic structures, assemblies, and EOAT / end effectors
- Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles across robotic systems
- Lead prototyping, testing, and validation cycles from concept to production
- Work with industrial robotics hardware including grippers, tool changers, sensors, actuators, and related components
- Support system-level integration and cross-functional development
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of industry experience in robotics
- Proven ability to deliver production-ready mechanical designs
- Hands-on mindset with experience building, testing, and iterating prototypes
- Familiarity with industrial robotics hardware and environments
- Proven experience with GD&T
