An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled HVAC Controls Technician to join a global leader in building performance and sustainability. Based in Brisbane, you’ll play a key role in delivering intelligent control solutions that enhance comfort, efficiency, and reliability across a range of commercial and industrial environments.

The Role

As a HVAC Controls Technician, you’ll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and optimisation of HVAC control systems and building automation solutions. Working closely with project engineers and service teams, you’ll ensure systems operate at peak performance while meeting client expectations for quality, safety, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission HVAC control systems on new and existing projects

  • Troubleshoot and repair control systems, sensors, and field devices

  • Perform system testing, calibration, and functional performance verification

  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and energy optimisation initiatives

  • Provide technical support to clients and ensure smooth project handovers

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience working with HVAC controls or BMS systems

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control logic, and electrical fundamentals

  • Experience with control platforms such as Tridium, BACnet, Modbus, or proprietary systems

  • Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC disciplines (Cert III or equivalent)

  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills
