Controls HMI Specialist

Overview:
This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of a drilling controls HMI development project - from initial concept through design, testing, deployment, and field validation. The position combines hands-on technical expertise in HMI architecture and control systems with strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of drilling controls HMI software projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, commissioning procedures, and training materials.
• Define project deliverables, allocate resources, and manage timelines with clear communication to stakeholders.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for HMI design, system architecture, communication protocols, and user interface development.
• Oversee quality assurance and testing, including simulations, HIL testing, and field validation prior to deployment.
• Coordinate beta testing programs and analyze field results to refine product functionality.
• Manage product lifecycle activities, including backlog prioritization, iteration planning, and performance evaluation.
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to R&D initiatives to enhance control system performance and scalability.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in developing or leading HMI software for control systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and system architecture design.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively across technical and operational teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools.
• Willingness to travel to field and rig sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years in drilling control system HMI development.
• Experience in product development and technical project management.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• PMP certification.
