Edison Smart are partnered with a growing Building Automation and Smart Buildings business located in the South East who are looking for a Project Engineer / Technical Support Engineer to join their existing team.

The Project Engineer / Technical Support Engineer will support the delivery of several service and new construction projects located in and around the London area. With some development provided, this would be an opportunity for a Building Automation Service Technician or Controls Technician looking to advance their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and commission building automation and control systems for HVAC, lighting, access control, and other integrated building technologies.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on BAS components, sensors, controllers, and networks.

  • Monitor system alerts, alarms, and trends to identify performance issues and optimize operations.

  • Troubleshoot system failures, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions.

  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and facilities staff during system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.

  • Document system configurations, programming changes, maintenance activities, and service reports.

  • Provide technical support and training to facility staff on BAS operations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and energy efficiency guidelines

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical Engineering Technology, Building Automation, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).

  • 2+ years of experience working with building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related technologies.

  • Experience with systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, or Schneider Electric preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and mechanical controls.

  • Proficiency in BAS software platforms, networking, and system integration.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
