Job Description

Our client, a diversified group operating across multiple business lines, is seeking a Finance Functional Lead to own the Finance workstream for their Oracle Fusion ERP implementation. This is a client-side role, acting as the senior bridge between the executive team, Finance, business stakeholders, and the System Integrator. The successful candidate will lead solution design, data migration, testing, and adoption, then transition into the ERP Process Owner role post go-live.

This requires someone able to hold the SI to account on quality and timelines, make design decisions at pace, and represent Finance directly to the executive steering committee.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership

  • Own Finance accountability within the programme, reporting into executive sponsors and the steering committee.
  • Manage the SI relationship at a functional level, holding them to solution and delivery standards.
  • Lead solution design workshops and own the Finance requirements set through to sign-off.
  • Present progress, risks, and decisions to executive stakeholders.

Solution Design & Data

  • Lead design of Chart of Accounts, reporting hierarchies, workflows, and controls.
  • Own configuration review and sign-off against agreed requirements.
  • Own the data migration strategy, including cleansing, validation, and reconciliation against legacy systems.

Testing & Go-Live

  • Own the UAT strategy and defect resolution tracking with the SI.
  • Lead cutover planning and go-live readiness for Finance.

Change & Adoption

  • Lead Finance training and change management, including SOPs and user guides.
  • Act as escalation point for Finance users through hypercare.

Post Go-Live

  • Own Finance system governance, controls, and the Super User network.
  • Own the reporting and BI roadmap (OTBI, Smart View, Power BI).
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, MIS, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, ACA, or CIMA) required or strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of finance, transformation, or ERP experience, including at least one full-cycle implementation in a functional or workstream lead capacity.
  • Oracle Fusion experience essential.
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and hold delivery partners to account.

  • On-time delivery of the Finance workstream.
  • Accuracy and completeness of migrated financial data.
  • SI accountability maintained against agreed standards.
  • User adoption and stabilisation post go-live.
  • Timely, accurate delivery of Finance reporting post go-live.
