Director of Research & Development

Location: Reno, Nevada – Onsite

Compensation: $250,000-$350,000

Edison Smart is partnered with a well-funded robotics startup building next-generation humanoid robots for real-world deployment.

We are seeking a Director of R&D to own technical direction, execution, and long-term innovation across the full humanoid robotics stack.

Key skills:

• 5+ years in robotics (humanoid or legged systems)
• Leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Experience with MPC, optimal control, and RL / imitation learning
• ROS/ROS2 or equivalent robotics middleware
• End-to-end understanding of humanoid systems (hardware + software + control)
