Electrical Engineer | Pays up to $120K | Onsite | Kansas City, KS

Edison Smart is partnered with a leading power grid & utilites automation solution provider looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to join the team.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Produce panel layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, and BOMs.

  • Configure/integrate SCADA/HMI (e.g., Ignition, iFIX, AVEVA).

  • Interface RTUs, I/O, relays/IEDs, sensors, and actuators.

  • Set up/troubleshoot comms: DNP3, Modbus (TCP/RTU), OPC/OPC UA, Ethernet.

  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, documentation, and handover

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Controls/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • ~1–3 years in power/utility automation or industrial controls.

  • Proficient with electrical drawings and CAD (AutoCAD Electrical or similar).

  • Familiarity with protection/IED ecosystems (e.g., SEL/ABB/Basler).

  • Basic scripting/database skills (VBA/VB, Python, SQL).

 

This role pays up to $120K base and is Onsite in Kansas City.
