As a Computer Vision / ML Engineer you'll focus on taking models from idea to production—owning the full lifecycle from data to deployment on real robots.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement ML and computer vision models end-to-end, from simple classifiers to complex deep learning architectures
• Own the full model lifecycle: data preparation, model selection, training, validation, and deployment
• Optimize models for performance, reliability, and edge deployment on robotic hardware
• Adapt existing models to new problem domains quickly, as our product and environments evolve
• Collaborate closely with robotics, software, and hardware teams to integrate perception into autonomous systems
• Help define best practices for data, evaluation, and production ML in a robotics setting

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Python
• Hands-on with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
• Proven ability to build ML pipelines from training through deployment
• Experience with model optimization for edge devices
• Prior experience at a robotics company or robotics-focused projects (required)
• Ability to rapidly adapt models to new domains and data

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time vision systems
• Familiarity with embedded or resource-constrained platforms
• Background in construction, automation, or industrial robotics

Senior Robotics Design Engineer

Location: Illinois - Onsite

Salary: Up to $120,000 per year

We’re partnering with an exciting, fast-growing robotics startup developing advanced robotic systems for real-world industrial automation. This is a hands-on role for a senior-level engineer who wants ownership across system-level mechanical design, from concept through production.

The Role

As a Senior Robotics Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical design and integration of robotic systems, including structures, subsystems, and end-of-arm tooling. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and software teams to rapidly iterate, prototype, and deliver production-ready robots.

Key Responsibilities

• Production-level mechanical design of robotic systems using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools
• Design and integration of robotic structures, assemblies, and EOAT / end effectors
• Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles across robotic systems
• Lead prototyping, testing, and validation cycles from concept to production
• Work with industrial robotics hardware including grippers, tool changers, sensors, actuators, and related components
• Support system-level integration and cross-functional development

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of industry experience in robotics
• Proven ability to deliver production-ready mechanical designs
• Hands-on mindset with experience building, testing, and iterating prototypes
• Familiarity with industrial robotics hardware and environments
• Proven experience with GD&T
