BAS Engineer – Jacksonville, Florida

An established and growing building automation specialist is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Engineer to join its team in Jacksonville, Florida.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and mission-critical facilities, delivering innovative building automation and energy management solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and configure BAS solutions for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Develop control strategies, system graphics, point databases, and network architecture.
  • Program and commission HVAC control systems and building automation platforms.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and provide technical support to customers and field teams.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technicians, contractors, and end users throughout project delivery.
  • Produce engineering documentation, submittals, and as-built drawings.
  • Support system integrations including BACnet, Modbus, and other open protocols.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, or Energy Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of BAS programming, commissioning, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with open communication protocols including BACnet and Modbus.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-facing experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to project sites.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with major BAS platforms such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, Tridium, or similar systems.
  • Background in healthcare, data centres, higher education, industrial, or commercial facilities.
  • Experience with system design, graphics development, and networked control systems.
